Long Bio
Catherine Cairns lives and writes in
central Massachusetts. She has published mystery and romantic short fiction,
humorous personal essays, and dozens of non-fiction articles. Her short mysteries
have been published in Riptide and Seasmoke, both anthologies of
crime stories by New England writers published by Level Best Books. Her work has
also appeared in Woman's World,
Writers Digest.com, The Wild Rose Press, and RavenElectrick.com.
Cathy teaches creative writing and memoir writing workshops and has written
for various greeting card companies.
Cathy is a member and past president of the New England Chapter Sisters in Crime.
She is also a member of Mystery Writers of America and Romance Writers of America.
Additionally, Cathy serves as Webmaven for the
New England Crime Bake Conference (www.crimebake.org),
the New England Chapter of Sisters in Crime (www.sincne.org),
and NEWN magazine (www.newnmag.com), among others.
Cathy writes the "Recollections"
column for the Community
Advocate newspaper, featuring stories of folks who've lived
through the greater part of the 20th Century, remember it well, and
want to share their stories of the past.
Cathy has finished, and is currently marketing, the first in her mystery
series featuring historical
museum curator, Casey O'Hara, who shares Cathy's passion for history and penchant
